In questo lavoro è stata effettuata la determinazione di 19 elementi metallici (alluminio, arsenico, bario, calcio, cadmio, cobalto, cromo, rame, ferro, potassio, magnesio, manganese, molibdeno, sodio, nichel, fosforo, piombo, vanadio e zinco) in campioni di biodiesel ottenuti mediante catalisi alcalina omogenea, ottenuti mediante catalisi alcalina omogenea, e degli oli vegetali utilizzati come materie prime per la produzione di questi biocarburanti, mediante spettrometria di emissione atomica al plasma accoppiato induttivamente (ICP-AES). A tal fine, è stato necessario effettuare una precedente ottimizzazione del metodo di digestione acida in un forno a microonde per questo tipo di campioni. Allo stesso modo, la qualità dei campioni di biodiesel, in termini di contenuto di metalli previsto dalla legge, è stata valutata applicando le norme UNE-EN 14538:2006 e UNE-EN 14107:2003. Questi standard sono stati utilizzati anche per l’analisi del contenuto di questi cinque elementi metallici nei campioni di olio utilizzati come materia prima nella produzione di biodiesel.
