Mit der zunehmenden Bedeutung von Windgeräuschen in modernen Fahrzeugen, insbesondere bei batterieelektrischen Antrieben, rücken aeroakustische Phänomene stärker in den Fokus. Ein Beispiel sind tieffrequente Druckschwankungen am Fahrzeugunterboden, die den Fahrkomfort beeinträchtigen können: das sogenannte Aero-Wummern. Laura Breitenbücher untersucht systematisch die Entstehung dieses Effekts und identifiziert die strömungsmechanischen Ursachen der niederfrequenten Pulsationen. Grundlage bilden Windkanalversuche und numerische Simulationen der Unterbodenströmung, ergänzt durch moderne Auswertemethoden zur Erkennung kohärenter Strukturen. Die Arbeit zeigt, dass vor allem vordere Radspoiler großskalige Wirbelstrukturen erzeugen, die sich bis in den Heckbereich ausbreiten und dort verstärkte Druckfluktuationen hervorrufen. Darauf aufbauend entwickelt die Autorin ein methodisches Vorgehen zur Bewertung des Phänomens sowie gezielte konstruktive Gegenmaßnahmen. Störkörper und Wirbelgeneratoren ermöglichen eine deutliche Reduktion bis hin zur Vermeidung des Aero-Wummerns, auch bei unterschiedlichen Fahrzeugkonfigurationen. Ergänzend wird ein simulationsgestütztes Bewertungskonzept vorgestellt, das eine frühe Analyse im Entwicklungsprozess erlaubt und aufwendige Windkanaltests reduziert.
