Grupa seniorów nie stanowi jednorodnej warstwy społecznej, lecz reprezentuje wszystkie aspekty społeczeństwa. Niniejsza praca bada, w jakim stopniu osoby starsze były w stanie zachować swój udział w życiu społecznym, czy doszło do jego ograniczenia, a jeśli tak, to jakie są tego przyczyny i okoliczności. Ponadto przedstawiono sugestie i koncepcje, które mogłyby pomóc w (ponownym) umożliwieniu wszystkim seniorom pełnego uczestnictwa w życiu społecznym.
