Perante a gravidade dos impactos das alterações climáticas (MC) e os perigos para o ecossistema, algumas organizações não governamentais (ONG) e estruturas financeiras e técnicas, em colaboração com organizações de agricultores (OA), iniciaram uma gestão sustentável das terras (GSF). O objetivo deste trabalho é capitalizar as boas práticas de gestão sustentável dos solos para a adaptação às alterações climáticas no Benim, em particular, e na África saheliana, em geral, analisando simultaneamente os impactos ambientais e socioeconómicos destas técnicas no Benim. Mais especificamente, o objetivo é contribuir para uma melhor compreensão das práticas de SLM e, em seguida, elaborar uma tipologia para determinar o nível de adoção destas práticas. Em seguida, os impactos ambientais e socioeconómicos das práticas de SLM foram analisados após um estudo exaustivo sobre a questão das alterações climáticas (CC). Os desafios do Benim face a esta problemática foram igualmente abordados, com vista a formular recomendações aos principais actores no domínio da agronomia.
