This book aims to offer an approach to the ancient mentality having myth as its main frame of reference. The different chapters reflect its changing functions, overlapping behaviours, pulsating resonances and persistent presences. Their vitality and their reconversions are shown through their traces and memories, not always visible but always felt. Through diverse stories inserted in a context framed in the geographical, temporal and mental environment of antiquity, it is evident how mythology has managed to permeate the intellectual, philosophical, artistic and historical background of our world.
