James Bond has appeared in 24 canon films, with No Time to Die being the 25th, and in 2 additional films that are not considered canon alongside the main series of films. So let’s break down the history and evolution of James Bond and all of his cinematic appearances - starting with his inception. While the first 007 film, Doctor Who, was released in 1962, it was not his first film for the general public. James Bond first appeared in a 1953 novel by Ian Fleming titled Casino Royale. James Bond would appear in 14 full-length novels and 9 short stories. After Ian Fleming’s death many other authors began writing stories for the character and new novels are still being written and released today!
