Questo libro, nelle sue linee, cerca di produrre un approccio al tema della resilienza che inviti alla riflessione e costituisca un contributo significativo in ambito educativo, descrivendo come la scuola e, in particolare gli insegnanti, favoriscano lo sviluppo di questa capacità negli studenti, generando nuove possibilità di risolvere le molteplici e complesse situazioni che il contesto presenta loro.Cercando di fornire riferimenti teorici sul binomio: educazione e resilienza, all’inizio della stesura, la resilienza viene definita e descritta come la capacità dell’essere umano che gli permette di affrontare le avversità. È noto dalle neuroscienze che, negli individui resilienti, variabili costituzionali, biologiche e genetiche interagiscono con variabili ambientali e comportamenti appresi per risolvere determinate situazioni avverse, evitando o prevenendo un disturbo. È da questa idea centrale che, nel successivo sviluppo del testo, vengono descritti i fattori che promuovono la resilienza negli studenti. Viene studiata e osservata una particolare istituzione educativa che applica e promuove questi fattori nell’insegnamento quotidiano.
