Im ersten Kapitel versuchen wir, eine historische Untersuchung über die Entwicklung der Disziplin der Kunstanthropologie durchzuführen, indem wir verschiedene Theorien, Traditionen und Perspektiven durchgehen, wobei die materielle Kultur, Kunst und Kosmologie der Guarani in Mato Grosso do Sul als treibende Kraft dient. Im zweiten Kapitel werden Informationen über das Dorf Jaguapirú und das Dorf Bororó in der Gemeinde Dourados im Bundesstaat Mato Grosso do Sul (Zentral-West Brasilien) gegeben. Auf diese Weise gehen wir durch Themen wie Archäologie, Geschichte, soziale, politische und wirtschaftliche Organisation, bis wir zur Produktion von Guarani-Kunst, Artefakten und heiligen und rituellen Objekten kommen. Im dritten Kapitel betonen wir, dass die Kunst ein Thema ist, mit dem sich die Anthropologie seit langem befasst und in das verschiedene Denker ihre Visionen eingebracht haben, wobei sie verschiedene Schulen oder Traditionen durchlaufen haben. So wird in diesem Kapitel die Sicht der Guarani-Indianer auf heilige Objekte vorgestellt.
