Polymerbasierte Wirkstofffreisetzungssysteme sind eine attraktive Alternative, um die Freisetzung von Wirkstoffen zu kontrollieren und über einen bestimmten Zeitraum hinweg definierte Blutspiegel zu erreichen. In dieser Studie wurden natürliche, biologisch abbaubare Polymerimplantate mit Letrozol zur langfristigen Wirkstofffreisetzung für die Behandlung von metastasiertem Brustkrebs bei Frauen nach der Menopause hergestellt und evaluiert.
