In dem Buch wurde das Produktivitätsniveau von Arbeitnehmern in einigen ausgewählten Ländern der Welt sorgfältig untersucht, der Einfluss von Motivationsfaktoren auf die Produktivität von Arbeitnehmern eingehend erörtert und der Beitrag des Widerstands von Arbeitnehmern zum erreichten Produktivitätsniveau in diesem Sektor untersucht. In dem Buch wurde ferner ein Konstrukt zur Erklärung der Beziehung zwischen Produktivität, Motivation und Widerstandsfaktoren aufgestellt und ein Modell für diese Beziehung erstellt. Die Anwendung des Modells in der Industrie wurde ebenfalls diskutiert, um Managern zu helfen.
