Esta es la primera parte de la historia de emancipación de la Aldea de Rio Tinto, de su matriz Zalamea la Real, que se desarrolla íntegramente en el siglo XIX . Donde la Aldea de Rio Tinto obtiene su libertad en 1868, con el nombre de Villa de la Libertad, pero esta solo dura tres meses, ya que entre la negativa de Zalamea la Real a concederla y los momentos políticos, la hacen fracasar, siguiendo la lucha hasta conseguirla definitivamente en el año 1885, con el nombre de Villa de Nerva.La segunda parte se sitúa en el siglo XX y en ella se describen no solo los logros que los hombres que la gobiernan consiguen para esta Villa, sino también, las luchas obreras y la guerra civil, que fue extremadamente dura en la Cuenca Minera.La tercera parte nos sitúa en 1985 y trata de todos los actos que se llevaron a cabo en el 'Año del Centenario'. 10
