Both literary and clinical accounts share narrative structure, and the former may inform a clinician’s understanding of the patient experience of disease. Creative writers without medical training may describe neurological disorders based on their careful observations of the human condition, permitting a fruitful exchange of ideas in this interdisciplinary subject area.
