Neste trabalho foram sintetizados 54 novos compostos de coordenação homogéneos e mistos de nitratos de magnésio e de cálcio; a sua individualidade e a coordenação dos ligandos e dos aniões nitrato ao ião central foram determinadas por análise de fase de raios X e espetroscopia de infravermelhos. A estrutura cristalina do composto de coordenação [Ca(NO3)2(NC5H4CONH2)2(H2O)2] foi determinada pela primeira vez por análise de difração de raios X; os produtos de termólise foram identificados e as propriedades térmicas dos compostos sintetizados foram determinadas. Os parâmetros energéticos, a distribuição de cargas nos átomos, a geometria e a reatividade dos compostos sintetizados foram determinados por métodos de química quântica. Com base na análise da atividade biológica, foi identificado um novo estimulante para plantas agrícolas, Ca(NO3)2-CO(NH2)2-CS(NH2)2, numa série de compostos sintetizados. A aplicação da preparação resultou na aceleração do tempo de germinação, na redução do período de vegetação e no aumento do rendimento do algodão.
