Lo studio ha utilizzato un mix design 1:2:4 e un rapporto acqua-cemento di 0,5. Sono stati utilizzati cubi quadrati di legno di dimensioni 100 x 100 x 100 mm, ottenendo 42 cubi. Sono stati utilizzati cubi quadrati di legno di dimensioni 100 x 100 x 100 mm, ottenendo 42 cubi di calcestruzzo. Le prove sono state condotte per valutare la distribuzione granulometrica, il peso specifico, la densità apparente, il valore di impatto degli aggregati, il valore di abrasione degli aggregati e la resistenza alla compressione al 7° e al 28° giorno di maturazione. In particolare, dopo 7 giorni, i risultati della resistenza alla compressione hanno mostrato che il calcestruzzo con il 10% di riempimento di ferro (18,5 N/mm²) aveva una resistenza media superiore rispetto al calcestruzzo con il 100% di sabbia di fiume (17,6 N/mm²). Tuttavia, con l’aumento della percentuale di riempimento di ferro al 20% (9,8 N/mm²) e al 30% (7,1 N/mm²), la resistenza alla compressione è diminuita. D’altra parte, il calcestruzzo con sostituzioni di segatura al 10% (3,7 N/mm²), 20% (1,4 N/mm²) e 30% (0,5 N/mm²) ha mostrato una capacità portante significativamente inferiore. Queste tendenze si sono mantenute al 28° giorno, con la resistenza alla compressione che è diminuita con l’aumentare delle percentuali di riempimento di ferro (10%: 20,3 N/mm², 20%: 11,2 N/mm², 30%: 11,6 N/mm²) e segatura (10%3,4 N/mm², 20%: 2,3 N/mm², 30%: 1,4 N/mm²).
