High on a hill there is a magical place called Overlook Farm. Many happy animals live on this farm who have nowhere else to go. One of those animals is named Sugar. She is a beautiful dark-brown- and-white horse who has lived at the farm most of her life. Sugar is thirty-five years old and very wise, so she looks out for all her friends. There is always something exciting going on at the farm. In Sugar's Search for Stella, her friend the mule is missing. Very worried, Sugar and some farmyard friends go searching for her, but they find much more than they bargained for. In the process they learn valuable lessons about teamwork and acceptance.
