Gilbert Correces
This book is a biography of Guillermo Ramirez-Correces, unknown to many of you and who was instrumental in starting the work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church through the construction of the first buildings that were the base of educational, medical, printing , administrative work for the church in Mindanao, western visayas, and Luzon. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has a system of assigning people they know who could do the work and they are somehow symbolized as a CALL from God to work in His vineyard. Guillermos work started with the Philippine Publishing House then it was followed by work with West Visayan Academy which was always flooding due to its location and on to Iligan where the Mindanao Sanitarium & Hospital was built which is now called Iligan Adventist Medical Center, then the pioneering of Mountain View College using prime lumber from its own sawmill powered by its own hydro electric plant and the progress of the South Philippine Union Conference from its beginnings at the Adams Center, the Davao Adventist Hospital and the new corporate headquarters of the South Philippine Union Conference and the beginnings of South Philippine Adventist College from Southern Mindanao Academy in Managa, Davao Del Sur. Finally the start of Adventist University of the Philippines which he surveyed in 1975 which becomes the first SDA university of the SDA church in the Philippines.
