Für Interessenten, die die Grundlagen der Regelungstechnik (Analyse und Synthese von Regelungssystemen) nicht nur kennen, sondern auch verstehen wollen. Im einzelnen werden behandelt: mathematische Beschreibung dynamischer Systeme, dynamisches Verhalten (Stabilität, Steuerbarkeit und Beobachtbarkeit), Synthese von Kompensationsreglern im Frequenzbereich und von Reglern mit Zustandsrückführung im Zeitbereich für Einfachsysteme, Zustandsrückführung mit Zustandsbeobachtung bei Mehrfachsystemen, optimale Regelung von zeitdiskreten und zeitkontinuierlichen Systemen, Regelung von nichtlinearen Systemen, auch mit Hilfe von neuronalen Netzen. Soweit wie möglich werden zeitkontinuierliche (analoge) und zeitdiskrete (digitale) Regelungssysteme parallel behandelt.
