Uma vez que as crianças autistas sofrem de dificuldades de aprendizagem e barreiras de comunicação, esta investigação visa conceber, desenvolver e avaliar uma aplicação móvel (app) baseada no Android, proporcionando um melhor ambiente de aprendizagem com inclusão de representação gráfica de uma forma rentável. Esta investigação avalia várias tecnologias de apoio e considera que o Sistema de Comunicação de Intercâmbio de Imagens (PECS) é a melhor escolha para integração com a aplicação. Os resultados da avaliação revelam que a inclusão do PECS ajudou as crianças que sofrem de Desordem do Espectro Autista (ASD) a comunicar melhor com os outros. O estudo incluiu crianças autistas que não falam, que são ininteligíveis e que são comunicadores minimamente eficazes com o seu actual sistema de comunicação. Os resultados da evolução mostraram impactos encorajadores da aplicação autista no apoio às crianças autistas para se adaptarem à vida normal e melhorarem o seu padrão de vida.
