Five hundred years before the modern era, the mysterious Etruscan civilisation ruled in Northern Italy and much of Europe. It was ruled by the Twelve Families who controlled all of the society’s moral and legal codes. But two of those families, the Vulci and the Tarquinia had been engaged in a bloody feud for many decades until the Twelve Families demanded an end. The Vulci had only one recourse, to call down a curse on their enemies to last for all of time. More than two thousand years later, the curse lands on a young girl in England who finds herself ruled by forces she cannot understand or control and begins a series of murders aimed at the long-dispersed descendants of the Tarquinia family. Only the Old Gods of Etruria can save her from the Etruscan Hell.

Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
