Analyse quantitative de Candida albicans dans le revêtement épithélial et sa corrélation avec les caractéristiques microscopiques. L’hyperplasie papillaire est considérée comme une forme de candidose buccale, en particulier une forme de stomatite des prothèses dentaires, de type III selon la classification de Newton (1962), qui répond à des critères cliniques et microscopiques. Son étiologie est encore mal connue, mais plusieurs facteurs ont été associés, tels que des prothèses dentaires mal adaptées, une mauvaise hygiène buccale, le matériau utilisé pour la fabrication des prothèses entraînant une hypersensibilité, un traumatisme, une immunodéficience et le champignon Candida albicans, mais il est nécessaire d’établir la relation entre la présence du champignon et la pathogenèse de la maladie.
